| Slowly everything is calming down over hier. All festivities are over
and there are only a few boats in the bay of Taiohae. This is also noticeable
in the village, as many inhabitants of Nuku Hivas are on holiday on other
French-Polynesian islands. |

Now is also the time of the ripening of guavas, so we hike
with Renaud into the mountains to harvest some guavas, which grow wild
here. |

we have a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape and nature. |

We harvest about 80 kg, which he purees and then sells it frozen to a jam company in Morea. We make guava-joghurt and guava milkshake, which tastes very nice. We're trying out other things as well … More in the coming week, Tom & Nela |
