CW 31 2003

04.08. - 10.08.2003

It's Monday morning and we're watching a beautiful sunrise.
Unfortunately we still don't have any wind and I'm afraid that won't change before we arrive in Cartagena at about 3pm.
In other words, we've spent the last 29 hours covering 170 nautical miles using our engines - and they were very reliable. We haven't even arrived at the Club Nautica yet, but the landing is already packed with friendly people wanting to greet us.

Soon SILVER BLUEs' cockpit is filled with chattering from us telling about our journey and learning the latest gossip.
The scenario repeats itself during the following days; we receive lots of visitors who would also like to see the pictures we took.

Apart from that there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of, lots of things that need to be bought, a few new projects for SILER BLUE that need to be planned and the unique historical center of Cartagena also needs to be visited again.

With all that to do the week goes by quickly and on Sunday we finally get round to visiting the Naval Museum. We've been wanting to do that for a long time. Lots of models show what the sea battles in the bay of Cartagena were like and there are lots of exhibits concerning maritime life. But the nicest thing about the museum is the building itself. It's a beautiful construction with open passageways supported by columns - that are nice and cool, even without air-conditioning - and a large inner courtyard with lots of palm trees.

More about Cartagna and all our other plans ... next week, if you like.

See you then
take care
