24.01. - 06.02.2005

Today there will only be a short logbook - after all, SILVER BLUE only has a small crew right now: Nela and Antoine are visiting Columbia, since Antoine hasn't met his maternal grandparents yet.
In the meantime I got SILVER BLUE back into the water and she's now she's floating right in front of the beach. It's nice and fresh here and that does make it easier to finish all those little jobs that still need to be done.
On the other hand, the weather is going a little crazy, due to the ends of a tropical depression, which has formed over Samoa. The low is on a southeasterly course, heading towards Polynesia and is fast turning into a full-blown cyclone with wind-speeds of 125 knots - that is considerably more than 200 km per hour. The cyclone is called "Meena", crossing over the Cook-islands producing considerable damage und continues towards French Polynesia. If it sticks to its course (which cyclones unfortunately don't always do) it should pass south of us. Our new on-board weather fax is a great help monitoring its progress - every 6 hours it spits out a new satellite image. Fortunately "Meena" does really pass by us on Sunday, 300 miles to the South.

More from us, soon, here - and then with a full crew again.
See you then - take care!

P.S. Since our sat-com doesn't work reliably any more (that is, mostly not at all), please send all emails to the following address:silverblue2000@yahoo.de
The reply might take a little longer this way (depending on our internet access possibilities), but at least it will definitely arrive!
