After we fought our way back through the Lombok Straights with those crazy currents we continued our cruise from Bali to Bawean. We're often accompanied by fishermen who usually travel at night - in their hundreds.

That means we don't get much sleep, but on the up-side we get great sailing winds and can make our way through the fishing boats doing 8 - 9 knots.

The people on Bawean give us a hearty welcome - and of course, Antoine is the center of attention once again. They also help us to get to the market in the neighboring village. After a short while two guys from the village are ready to take us on a pleasant ride to the bazaar.

We continue our trip to Karimunjawa, which is also Islamic, just like the larger part of Indonesia. (Bali is an exception) The village life unfolds around its center, the mosque, and even small kids happily visit the Quran School.

Snorkeling in Karimunjawa

We get a friendly welcome in all villages, and even if only a few people speak English everyone is interested in us.

Karimunjawa is a nature reserve and therefore, finally, the water is good enough to go snorkeling again, even if there aren't that many fish to be seen (no surprise, considering the extensive fishing done here).

Our next stop is in an uninhabited bay of the island Serutu. We're close to the equator again and our captain Antoine very much welcomes a refreshing swim at the sandbank. Also, the general evening atmosphere is very pleasant around here.

And yes, we cross the equator again, back into the northern hemisphere. Captain Antoine is already on the lookout for Singapore, even though his dress code isn't quite up to Captains standards.

After making our way through the incredible amount of huge ocean-going ships in Singapore we drop anchor at the designated spot to get the formalities done. Unfortunately we still have to wait a few hours before the little immigration boat comes - thanks to the fierce thunderstorm assaulting Singapore.

That's why Nela & Antoine are especially delighted one we reach our comfortable moorings at the One`15-Marina.

This is also where our ship will spend the rainy season - until the beginning of December. That's when there'll be more news on SILVER BLUE. We will be spending the fall in beautiful Slovenia.

Until then ... take care!
