Februar 2006

After a few days of difficult travel, going via Sydney, I finally arrive on February 19 to a summer day in Fiji.

Me, that's Tom. As of now I'm the engineer and boat builder, while captain Antoine and his mother Nela are still enjoying the snow in Slovenia.
After being away from SILVER BLUE for a few months there's lots to do - and in that case it's better to have just one hand in the paint pot.
In the summer everything blossoms around here, but it's also fairly warm. Right now, at 8.00am it's 32°C - and until the end of March we're also in full cyclone-season.

While the lonely palm trees wait for new tourists and sailors the harbors entry way gets dug out.

As you can see, there are a few ships here, but they are always here, because their inhabitants made it their business to build houses for rich people from New Zealand and Australia, here on the island Malolo Lailai.
To them Fiji is what Gran Canaria is to the Germans. Ok, there are some differences, but enough of idle talk - lets get working, before it gets to hot.

See you next month - until then ... take care
Greetings from Nela & Antoine
